1866 3CS MS64+ PCGS. CAC. Three cent silver production rose considerably in 1866, but the mintage for this issue was still limited to just 22,000 coins. High-grade survivors are difficult to locate. This example is choice for the assessment, as affirmed by PCGS and CAC. It features clean surfaces beneath lovely shades of blue, violet, and golden patina. The obverse star and shield are moderately frosted, and all devices are strongly defined. Population: 15 in 64 (1 in 64+), 43 finer. CAC: 3 in 64, 18 finer (6/20).
