Jones, of a newspaper article he wrote for the January 31, 1897 issue of the Anderson, Indiana Morning Herald, claiming that Christopher C. Ritter (a Knight of the Golden Circle) was with Booth following the assassination and that Edward Fox, not Booth, was killed at Garrett's farm.
