5" Porphyry Wisconsin Winged Bannerstone. Page Co, IA. Large and very well made with constricted center and ridged, square barrel. Very attractive green based Porphyry. Nicely polished. Fine condition with slight breakout to backside hole. Ex-Gary Cuckler, Jim Crawford. Found by Denzite Barlow in 1951. Jim Crawford had seen this Bannerstone at school as a young boy and was able to track it down later in life. Pictured in 2009 #1 Prehistoric American (p24) and Prehistoric Artifacts of Iowa (p205).
