East Asia, Korea, Silla Kingdom, ca. 5th to 10th century CE. A handsome, utilitarian vessel, perhaps used for holding wine or water, featuring a sturdy body that broadens to a large shoulder and a narrow mouth with a flat, unpronounced rim. The surface has a warm brown color, the result of using a technique called ash glazing. Size: 7.8" W x 10.25" H (19.8 cm x 26 cm)
