6 NIELS MOLLER DANISH MODERN CHAIRS

[ translate ]

Set of 6 J.L. Moller Mid 20th Century Danish Modern Teak and Woven Paper Cord Chairs. Scandinavian cord seats known for their durability, easily withstand decades of frequent use. Made of tightly twisted paper, the woven material is pleasantly comfortable to sit on. Even better, its natural texture only gets better with age. The seat is woven by hand from one continuous 425-foot-long piece of cord. At the Moller factory machines are never used for the final polish and a proud tradition of production without assembly lines is still thriving today. Niels Otto Møller created some of the most popular designs in 20th c. Danish furniture. Møller completed his apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker in 1939 and then continued on to study at the design academy in Arhus, Denmark. In 1944, he founded J.L. Mollers Mobelfabrik A/S, a company for which he produced designs and managed the production. The company is still active and family-owned. 2 Arm 24"x18"x31" and 4 Side Chairs 19"x18"x31". PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate. ***Pickup only or Shipping on this item offered through Outward Bound 413-854-3676, Laney’s Ship & Haul 256-770-5750, Pak Mail 843-849-0310 - info@charlestonshipping.com.
