7 Meiji Kutani Plates+

Hand painted in enamels and gilt, with birds among flowering branches, brocade pattern at scalloped rim. Variation in species of bird and kind of flowering tree. Eight character mark hand painted in red enamel to base. Three plates with rim chips. Plates are approx. 8 1/2" diameter. Also included, a very finely painted small antique Japanese scallop-edge saucer showing dwellings by the water beneath autumn trees with a mountain in the background, approx. 5" diameter.
