283 grams 14k Gold Cowboy Star Cross Chicago Arts Crafts Curb Link Belt 9.1 oztDescription:A Chicago Arts & Crafts 14k yellow gold star & cross belt made by the Naples Jewelry Company. The Naples Jewelry Company was active from 1905-1918 & was located on Hallsey 1910-1920 era. Has cool handmade chain on top & bottom with a star & cross motif running from end to end. Very clearly signed, the buckle says GIDG & VMR, we don’t know what this means. WHOEVER wore this certainly was the “cock of the walk” & knew how to strut his stuff! Speculation is that this was from a Civil War era retiree, a Masonic organization item, or possibly a man of the cloth, although we don’t see a man of the cloth wearing nearly 10oz of gold on his hip! Our auction estimate on this piece is 10000-20000.HFA 22003 Hallmarks:14k (2X), Made By The Naples Jewelry Co.
