A 19th century French silver mustard or sauce boat, by Maison Odiot, Paris, with hinged lid and raised on a fixed stand, the whole of ornate scrolled outline with foliate and shell detail in a rococo style, and opening to reveal a silver-gilt liner. Minerva guarantee mark for 950 fineness and maker's mark struck to all parts, the base further impressed Odiot and numbered 907001. Maximum height 4.25" (10.75cm), weight 25.93 ozt (806.8 grams).

Condition Report:
- Of heavy gauge and appears in fairly good overall condition.
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Some surface rubbing to areas of the decoration but generally good.
- There is a small hole to the back of the thumb-piece. It does not go all the way through but is quite rough to touch as if something has broken off so there may be a piece missing?
- Possible small area of damage or repair to the underside of base.
- Hinge pin protruding slightly on one side but otherwise hinged lid in good working order.
- Gilt liner shaped to fit and sits well. Very bright and probably re-gilded.
- Minerva guarantee and maker's mark struck to all parts, including the liner. Some marks rubbed but all still legible.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
