the first with broad hatchet-shaped blade formed with a sharp curved inner edge, widening at the forte and inlaid with a slender panel of engraved brass scrollwork, recessed rectangular ricasso inlaid with a pair of matching slender panels, horn hilt of characteristic form with a stepped brass moulding at the base, with semi-circular panels retaining a single brass crescentic inlay (the other three missing), and pear-shaped pommel with a large decorative brass washer top and bottom; the second with curved blade formed with a single edge on the inner face, inlaid with brass wrigglework and an eye on each face, and hardwood grip; and the third with tall curved blade formed with a curled tip, engraved on each face with a stylised dragon, and the back-edge formed with a short spur
