China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Of ovoid, elongated shape with short neck and everted lip, painted in intense underglaze cobalt blue to the exterior with elongated ruyi shaped ground peony lappets, enclosing emblems and flowers scattered across the white ground.
Condition: Very good condition with minor firing imperfections and some wear to the foot.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
