A BRONZE THREE-FOOTED OIL LAMP STAND
Iran, 10th - 12th century
Of typical shape, made into three detachable parts, rising from a griffin-footed tripod base with protruding horses and floral medallions, the shaft with several globular bulbs engraved with interlacing geometric shapes and abstract motifs, a plain circular plate on top of the shaft, 40.5cm high.
Provenance: Acquired in 1960’s – 1970’s in Iran and in the UK since 1981.
