A Berlin (Wegely) white porcelain baluster vase and cover, 1751-7
the finial formed as a seated putto, applied with trailing leaves and flowers, underglaze blue W mark, Pressnummern 2/90 to both parts

Condition Report:
Overall in good order and of good appearance. The finial's right arm has been broken and repaired with traces of old overpainting. The fingers of the left hand are restored and the left foot is also repaired. Two flowers have been re-attached to the cover. The trailing flowers, leaves and tendrils to the body of the vase have scattered chipping and eight flowers have been re-attached. There are some sectiosn of the tendrils chiped with some acssociated restoration, one small section of the tendril is detatched but the piece is intact. Because of the nature of this sculpted decoration the damages and repairs are not immediately obvious and do not detract form the overall look of the piece. The finial could do with a little attention from a good restorer.
