A CARVED PERAL SHELL BOAT.
The Chinese carved mother of pearl shell, is either 18th or 19th century; it is decorated with panels of figures in boats before shell-shaped pavilions, trailing flower sprays and money bags all containing Chinese characters; and a Canton enamel boat with a circular panel in the middle having a Chinese character. The base is shaped as a fish tail. The back is decorated with a subtle abstract shape.
