A Chinese 17th/18th century sancai glazed pottery figure of a guardian seated on a rock. H. 27 cm.
Provenance: Sophus Black 1882–1960, telegraph manager and art collector. Black was employed in the large Northern Telegraph Company and stationed in China in the period 1902–31.
Condition: Chips to the shoulders, left hand's little finger missing so as the sword of his right hand. Chips and repair along lower edge.
