A Chinese Export Armorial Dinner Service
Decorated with the coat of arms belonging to the family af Wirsén, each piece painted in famille rose enamels with a crest in the form of a shield, which has a bird on one side and fish on the side, under one flag belonging to the Swedish Navy and one to the Army’s fleet. Comprising: an oval tureen and cover, a reticulated oval dish, four cups and saucers and two more saucer dishes. Period: Jiaqing (1796 1820), circa 1810. Length: 35 cm (tureen).
The coat of arms belongs to the family af Wirsén, which was ennobled in 1805; this service was probably not ordered via the SOIC but was a private order. A famille rose plate with this decoration was exhibited in 2005 at The Swedish exhibition of Chinese Porcelain at the Palace Museum, Beijing,
