A Chinese blue and white jar
Of wide cylindrical form with a short straight neck, painted in shades of underglaze blue, decorated to the exterior with two large shaped panels, each decorated with the ‘Hundred Antiques’ motif of auspicious symbols; a lotus flower between each panel, the neck with a key-fret pattern, shoulder pierced with two holes on either side between the panels for attachment of metal handles, the base glazed and with a double circle in underglaze blue. Period: Kangxi (1662 - 1722). Height: 18 cm, diameter: 17 cm.
