A Chinese blue and white jar
Of wide cylindrical form and short straight neck, painted in brilliant shades of underglaze blue enamels, decorated to the exterior with two large shaped panels, one decorated with antiques and auspicious symbols, the other decorated with two figures standing on a promontory in a watery landscape; between each panel is a boldly drawn shou-character, the neck with bands of keyfret and dot pattern, the base glazed and with a double circle in underglaze blue. Period: Kangxi (1662 - 1722). Height: 17,5 cm, diameter: 16,5 cm.
