A Chinese export silver table cigarette box decorated with dragons in relief.

A Chinese export silver mounted table cigarette box, the rectangular form decorated in relief with dragons wrapped around the base and a further dragon to the hinged lid, on a matt textured ground, and opening to a wood lined interior. Marked to base S. Co. SILVER with character marks for Sincere & Company (Hong Kong and Shanghai). Length 6.75" (17cm).

Condition Report:
- With some heavy tarnish throughout and would benefit from a good clean and polish.

- Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.

- Some slightly heavier wear, including minor knocks and dints, around edges and to corners.

- There is some surface rubbing to areas of the relief dragon decoration causing some loss of detail, however appears in fairly good condition overall. Some residues of polish visible.

- The end of one of the whiskers has broken off the dragon on the lid. And there appears to be a small repair/loss to the body (just above and to the left of the vacant oval.

- Base with some heavier contact marks and scuffs and areas of denser scratches.

- Hinged lid appears in good working order.

- Wood interior faded with dirt and other residues.

- Maker's marks located to base, these partly rubbed.
