A Chinese famille rose yellow-ground 'Jixiang ruyi' medallion bowl

Qing dynasty, 19th century, apocryphal Qianlong mark

Enamelled with four medallions, each enclosing characters forming the well-wishing phrase jixiang ruyi 吉祥如意, meaning 'every wish as you desire', reserved on a bright yellow ground embellished with scrolling lotus, the base with underglaze blue six-character seal mark, 9.7cm diameter.
