A DERBY PORCELAIN PART DESSERT SERVICE, CIRCA 1820

each piece painted with a meandering red and gilt scroll border with green vine leaves between lambrequins, comprising:
Three ice buckets, liners and covers, 10¼in high;
Four square dishes, 8½in square;
A tripod centre bowl, cracked;
A circular basket and stand;
Two lozenge-shaped dishes;
A pair of oval stands;
A lobed circular bowl; and
Twenty-two plates

Condition Report:
The service is in typical country house condition with some repairs and wear and some staining to several pieces.

In detail:
Three ice pails, covers and liners, the liners are slightly ill-fitting so may be contemporary matches. Two ice pails, covers and liners are reasonably intact, one has the decoration in good order and the liner has a repaired break to the border, the other is quite worn to the gilding,notably to the finial and the border of the cover. The third ice pail has a handle missing and the finial has become detached with a small break to the leaf moulded edge of the base of the finial.
Four square dishes - 2 with faint cracks to the rim, 1 in sound condition but with notable staining, the last example is repaired to the rim.
Centre bowl - has a large crack from the rim to the centre.
Circular basket and stand - the basket is intact with some wear to the border of the foot, the stand has had the pierced border removed and has two further large chips to the edge.
Two lozenge dishes - both rubbed, one also cracked.
Two stands - one with a star crack, one very rubbed and stained.
A circular bowl - extensively rubbed with a section to the rim repaired.
Plates - 9 generally in sound condition but with some rubbing; 2 with minor chipping to rims; 2 with minor crack from the rims; 3 with broken sections to the border; 6 with discoloured large cracks.
