A Dutch Delft Blue and White Tankard
Second Half Century, with Pewter-Mounts
painted with a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon, reserving the a boot, a shoe, and a mule, perhaps representing a shoemaker's guild, flanked by large tulips, with concentric bands at the rims, indistinct mark in blue, the hinged pewter cover engraved :M:K:, and CPW to interior
Overall height 9 1/2 in.
Condition Report:
The rim of the tankard with some glaze loss and chipping. The foot with a hairline crack which extends around the circumference, and approximately 7.5 cm up one side of the tankard, and approximately the same length on the opposite side. The body overall with some glaze crazing cracks.
The pewter mount at foot loose.
