A Dutch Delft blue and white clock-case, 19th century, pseudo blue Adrianus Kocks AK monogram / 99 mark, the cylindrical case surmounted by a foliate finial, the baluster stem painted with three landscape vignettes, one with a farm girl, divided by cockerel’s heads at the shoulder, tapering to a foliate tripod base with three paw feet on a shaped triangular plinth base, 56.5cm high
The cylindrical case has been broken through and restuck. There are some areas of overpainting along the breaks which have yellowed with time (this could be stripped off by a restorer and carried out again). There is a small minor chip to the comb of one cockerel, and on one of the other cockerel heads a small chip to the comb has been restored. There is a minor flake to the glaze on one of the scrolls (above the cockerel heads). The lower part of the stem has also been broken through and restuck, and there are similar areas of overpainting along the breaks which have also yellowed with time. There are some very small (and very minor) chips to the extremities of the base.
