A FOOTED BRONZE OIL LAMP
Iran, 10th - 12th century
Of typical shape with a rounded body and an oblong narrow spout with reinforced flattened mouth, resting on a circular splayed foot, two bosses on the sides of the body, the lid shaped as a lion's head, the handle with a rectangular grip and a curved open ending, 14.5cm high.
Provenance: Acquired in 1960’s – 1970’s in Iran and in the UK since 1981.
