A FRENCH SEVRES STYLE ORMOLU-MOUNTED PORCELAIN VASE, LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY

of ovoid baluster form, two-handled, the handles formed as a pair of maidens holding spilling flower baskets, the recto featuring a maiden with a pair of putti holding flowers, the verso featuring a misty landscape with ruins, the cover with gadrooned pine-form finial, all against a bright fuscia ground with tooled details, the recto signed Collot; overall height: 60 cm (23 5/8 in.)

CONDITION
The vase is in overall good condition. Handle mounts slightly loose, with age-appropriate darkening in places, as apparent in the attached. Adhesive residue apparent at the rim at the base of the neck. Adhesive residue to the front, next to the female figure and below the putti. Inspection under UV light shows fluorescence to the above-mentioned areas of adhesive, as well as re-gilding to the ornament on the cover.

N.B. All lots are sold in as-is condition at the time of sale. Please note that any condition statement regarding works of art is given as a courtesy to our clients in order to assist them in assessing the condition. The report is a genuine opinion held by Shapiro Auctions and should not be treated as a statement of fact. The absence of a condition report or a photograph does not preclude the absence of defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of any others.
