A FRENCH SILVER-GILT THREE-PIECE TEA SERVICE, L.R. RUCHMANN, PARIS, 1819-38

ornately decorated with anthemion scroll bands and stylised bud finials, the pot with swan masked spout and mother-of-pearl handle, pot 15.2cm., 6in. high; with a Portuguese silver inkstand, Oporto, 1813-36, modelled as a scallop shell surmounted by a swan, three cylindrical ink/sander pots (one lacking cover) and twin baluster tapers, all on three scrolling bracket paw feet, maker's mark rubbed, 18cm., 7in. high; and an Italian silver bougie/candle box, Venice, circa 1770, plain circular with detachable cover, initialled V.M
7cm., 2¾in. diameter
2050gr., 66oz. total

Condition Report:
The tea-set of good gauge and quality. The gilding a nice colour, the cover of the sugar bowl a little worn. The mother-of-pearl handle with an old split approx 2cm. long. The cream jug does not quite sit on an even surfac and has old repairs to the lower body.
The inkstand missing one cover. One taper with screw absent. one cover with finial detached but present.
The bougie box in good condition and nice gauge. counter-mark stamped twice only to underside.
