Provenance: From an old American private collection. This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. J. Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers. His degree in archaeology from one of the best British universities and passion for Chinese art is reflected in this beautiful porcelain plaque. The large plaque expertly hand painted with an idyllic mountainous landscape gnarled pine trees and figures and dwellings. A truly beautiful plaque. Length (including frame) : 50 cm. Width (including frame) : 35 cm. Condition: Very good. NO repairs. NO cracks. No chips. (plaque not inspected outside its frame but what is visible is fine. The glaze displays the 'orange peel' when touching and looking at it, and with absolutely loads of miniature bubbles within the glaze, both which are signs of genuine 19th century porcelain. The frame with a wonderful old age natural honey colour patina, some scuff as expected; the hanging hooks with losses and patina.
