A French Directoire fruitwood and marble topped commode, early 19th century, 83cm high, 127cm wide, 58cm deep Provenance: Property of a Private Family CollectionCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use in a domestic setting,Overall with a light colour overall,The escutcheons are all replacements, there are holes and infill where the previous ones have sat. The locks and handles appear to be original however, there are no keys, all drawers are open at time of report, the central drawer has no handle (by design). The marble with the usual knocks and chips to the extremities, losses to the rear edge/corners especially. this is slightly wobblily overall across the cornersSome old splits and cracks and openings to jointsSome old signs of woodworm including both open and filled holes, Condition Report Disclaimer
