A French Napoleon III-Style Burl and Gilt Bronze Mounted Partners Desk, late 19th century 31 x 63 x 39-1/2 inches (78.7 x 160.0 x 100.3 cm) PROVENANCE: Private estate, Austin, Texas The partners desk with veneer banding throughout and gilt bronze acanthus and scrolled corner knees to tapered legs with six drawers, each with olive burl fronts and gilt bronze laurel garland and wreath pulls and escutcheons, with two side pull-out writing wings, with tooled and textured green leather top under beveled octagonal glass with four gilt bronze appliques depicting two muses.

Condition Report: Two bronze appliques detached from glass top and included in the center drawer, light wear to veneer banding to top surface, leather is in original condition, glass is intact with adhesive residue to surface from detached appliques, ink stain to center drawer interior.
