A Fine French Napoleon-III Gilt Bronze and Ebonized Mahogany Parlor Cabinet, circa 1870 Signature to bronze plaque: A.D. Saibus 34-1/2 x 68 x 21 inches (87.6 x 172.7 x 53.3 cm) The cabinet with an inset King of Prussia black marble top on conforming blocked d-end carcass with colonettes flanking three doors, with central plaque depicting Athena signed A.D. Saibus, side doors with urn-form plaques; the plinth extensively mounted with foliate cartouches resting on squat toupie feet.

Condition Report: Structurally sound and presenting well overall. Marble top has filled fissures and light surface scratches; central cabinet lacks shelves; flanking cabinet shelves present and are adjustable; cabinet interiors feature string inlay and other good veneers. locks present, keys absent; later metal braces affixed to back; Bronze mounts are well cast and attractive with slight patina; ebonized surface is mostly smooth with one shrinkage fissure to left side door, nicks and dents to stile corners and scattered craquelure especially on lower part of central door (as expected for age and use).
