Sturdy and professionally conserved condition. Re-finished in the 20th century, with a polished patina. The top and drawer fronts heavily wormed, but in a way that is even and attractive, adding character to the commode. The top constructed from multiple boards, and is a replacement. Age cracks in both sides. The top drawer front with a chipped / detached section of wood from its proper right edge; the detached piece is present. Drawer liners and handles appear to be original. The brass escutcheons may be replaced or re-positioned (old, darkened "scars" are visible around them on the drawer fronts).
