A French carved white-painted salon suite in Louis XV style, 19th century, with Aubusson style upholstery depicting figures in bucolic landscapes and hunting scenes, comprising; a canape, 107cm high, 194cm wide, 70cm deep overall, and six armchairs, all with cabriole legs (7)Condition Report: All elements with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, wear and rubbing to elements of the painted decoration this reveals the underlying timber in places, it is possible that some of this wear is to simulate greater age than the suite has, all with old splits and cracks and joints opened, all with some refreshing to the paintwork, all with old tack marks from previous upholstery present to the undersides, signs of old woodworm to railsChair one - some repairs to the timber rails including a later let in spliced section, upholstery with some pulls and holes, overall stable,Chair two - upholstery with some pulls and holes, overall stable,Chair three - more severe chips and losses to the paint revealing timber frames beneath, upholstery with the fewest pulls and holes, overall stable, more severe damage to the rails - including woodworm and other untidynessChair four - brownish filler used to fill old woodworm and tack holes to the rails - this has been applied but not sanded smooth, frame with some chips and losses to paint but not severe, the upholstery with holes and pulls, overall stable,Chair five - again some brownish filler to underside in patches though rather than all over, the rear rail is cracked through and wobbling - this appears to have been sanded - perhaps to take a brace and secure but never completed, wear to painted finish to top rails as wells, some pulls and holes to upholstery - overall stable despite the cracked rail Chair six - least woodworm , some old splits, overall stable, upholstery with some smaller holes and pulls, Sofa - rubbing and wear, upholstery in generally good order with fewer pulls and holes than the chairs overall, the underside is covered with fabric and the rails are not viewable - Dreweatts cannot guarantee the originality of these or the condition beneath this upholstery, overall stable, Please see additional images for visual reference to conditionCondition Report Disclaimer
