A French fragment of a Gothic memorial slab of an

Life-sized. Solid limestone, accurately and fully sculptured. The slumbering head of the superior of a convent of nuns in her cowl and veil, resting on a pillow-like structure. The headdress fixed with fine hairpins. The virtuous features can barely be discerned on account of the heavy weathering. The folds of her robes exquisitely delineated. Modern iron pedestal, painted black. Damage due to age and weathering. The stone knocked in places. Dimensions 28 x 42 x 48 cm.
