A French gilt bronze and frosted glass electrolier
A French gilt bronze and frosted glass electrolier, late 19th century, with downcast foliate scrolled arms terminating in bell shades and issuing around a central stem cast with foliate and swagged cartouches inset with frosted glass panes moulded with trophies, approximately 140cm high, 105cm wideCondition Report: The chandelier bears the minor marks, knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use, and the gilding is a little rubbed and there are some losses to the gilt finish especially to the upright stems of the frame. One of the festoons between the branches and body has broken in two. Both parts are present, but this would require attention. One leaf has broken off from one of the branches. This is present and sold with the lot. Some of the metal elements are a little bent, especially the laurel swags to the top of the frame. The frosted finish on the glass cabochons is a little scratched.Minor nibbling and one or two tiny shallow chips to the glass shades, but these are overall in fair condition.Sold as a decorative item, please have tested by a certified electrician prior to use.Condition Report Disclaimer
