A French needlework tapestry
A French needlework tapestry, late 18th or 19th century, approximately 299 x 254cm
Condition Report:
The tapestry is faded overall, though the reds and pinks to the central figures are quite well preserved, as are some of the darker browns and greens of the cattle and trees. There is a vertical tear to the centre of the panel, circa 15-20cm in length. Several smaller vertical rips and tears to the surrounding area (the sky above the figures). Various nicks overall, commensurate with age. The top border may have been restitched. The tapestry is quite dusty, which could be easily addressed.
