A GEORGE II WALNUT, ELM, AND FEATHER BANDED SIDE TABLECIRCA 173575cm high, 76cm wide, 50cm deep For a related example of table, see Adam Bowett, Early Georgian Furniture 1715-1740, Antique Collectors' Club, 2009, page 239 plate 5:73. Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits and chips. Evidence of old worm in areas throughout. Sun fading to colour and evidence of later re-polishing. Some old veneer repairs and filler applied in places (see images). The feet with spliced old repairs and dark varnish historically to disguise. One rear foot has a larger spliced repair that runs partially up the leg. Handles appear original. Some later supporting block to the interior of the carcass at the underside of the top. Later blocks applied to the undersides of the feet and coloured to match.
