A GEORGE II WALNUT AND GILT GESSO OVERMANTEL MIRRORCIRCA 174037cm high, 101cm wideCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips and splits to frame. Some section of veneer to the frame have been re-stuck. The gilt surface to the slip has possibly been re-freshed at some point. It bear the expected wear and some small losses. The back with later backboards and tape. A dark wash has been applied over these. The mirror plates have significant age. All bear depletion, losses and grey spots but the are replacements. There are various chips of loss to the edges of the central bevelled plate (the side plates are not bevelled).
