A GEORGE III MAHOGANY OPEN ARMCHAIR IN THE MANNER OF GEORGE HEPPLEWHITE, CIRCA 177594cm high, 68cm wide, 55cm deep overallCondition Report: Chair with marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits and chips. As illustrated the chair is without upholstery with the underlying hessian to the back and seat. No upholstery or padding is present to the arm rests. Some old dowel and glue repairs to the top rail of the back - see images. Various old tack holes to frame where upholstery once sat. Later supporting blocks to the underside of the seat. Later screws to the undersides of the side rails to secure the arm supports above. Old glued repairs to splits - see images. Chair is structurally solid overall. The timber has an old dark varnish applied to the surface throughout. There are some areas of rubbing and wear to the surface. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
