(A) GERMAN "ANSORG" 4MM ZIMMERSTUTZEN RIFLE.

German vertical block breechloading Zimmerstutzen parlor gun made by "ANSORG LANDAU" in 4mm (likely to be kurz). Barrel is marked "11.93" with the standard "BUG" proofs. No serial number appears to be present, and no import marks. Octagonal fluted blued matted barrel has early front sight (post is missing and appears to be broken off) and is adjustable for windage. Most of the barrel is a false muzzle loading size, and only about six inches of the barrel for the 4mm cartridge is at the breech. On the 11mm barrel sight grooves is a removable target mid sight, which is adjustable for both elevation and windage. Early diopter sight with disc insert is mounted on the rear tang, and is fully adjustable. Receiver, trigger guard, floor plate assembly, have case hardening and engraving. Engraving presents four shooters, floral patterns, and some checkering. High-quality walnut stock has checkering on the grip, nicely carved floral patterns, and a nicely carved scene with a shooter on the left rear. Walnut forearm has some checkering and a carved dog. Butt plate is of the standard Schuetzen style Slings swivels are mounted on the barrel and stock. CONDITION: Rifle is overall excellent and retains 90-95% of its original blued finish and approximately 65% of its case hardening. Wood has very little noticeable wear/ damage. Front sight post is not present. Rear stock is loose. Butt plate has glue on the right side filling in the gap with the stock. Bore is bright, set triggers function properly, and rifle is mechanically sound.
