A Geoge V silver treasury inkstand.

A Geoge V silver treasury inkstand, of rectangular form with applied reeded borders and raised on four bun feet, with central hinged and scrolled carry handle and four hinge-lidded compartments, opening to reveal a long rectangular glass pot and two square glass inkwells. Hallmarked Lionel Alfred Crichton, London 1924. Length 7.25" (18.5cm), weight excluding glass 29.51 ozt (918 grams).

Condition Report:
- Appears in fairly good overall condition.
- Displaying some general light surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.
- All hinged lids appear in good working order and close flush.
- Handle also in good working order and is self-supporting when in an upright position.
- Sqaure glass inlkwells with white metal mounts but these are not hallmarked.
- One of the inkwells has a large chunk missing to one corner.
- Further small chips and nibbles to all three glass pots, mainly along edges and corners.
- All three fit well in their compartments.
- Middle compartment is empty.
- Hallmarks located on one side with further part marks to reverse of each lid and to handle. These rubbed in places but all legible.
- Further impressed maker's name to base.
- Residues of sticky labels to one side and base.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
