A George II walnut side chair, circa 1740, with fiddle shaped splat above a later tapestry upholstered seat and cabriole legs, 100cm highProvenance: Little Wolford Manor, WarwickshireCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and useThe back with a dry appearance and with signs of wear and use, overall would benefit from a sympathetic polish Old splits and cracks and old repairs, this is in areas including the seat rails, there are clear signs of previous woodworm to the chair including the rails. Overall the chair is solid and stable, this would appear to have had professional restoration work carried out to stabilise the old cracks and worm. There are later pads to the end of each of the legs, The drop in seat with later upholstery, this appears in fair condition overall.Missing a small piece of timber to the rear.
