These arms were held by Sir Robert HODSON (1747-1809) who in 1787 was created 1st Baronet Hodson of Hollybrook House, Co. Wicklow in the Peerage of Ireland. He was the son and heir of William HODSON (1721-1768) of Westmeath, Co. Wicklow by Eleanor ADAIR who were married in 1745, in 1799 married Jane NEVILLE who bore the arms of the Earl of Abergavenny, and was succeeded by his son Sir Robert Adair HODSON (1802-1831). The HODSON family were earlier settled in Houghton, Staffordshire.
