Old English pattern, later engraved with a crest, comprising: 6 table-spoons 6 table-forks 6 dessert-spoons 6 dessert-forks 6 teaspoons 2 sauce-ladles 48oz 4dwt, 1,499gr (32) Provenance: Dutton Manor, Lancashire
Each piece is marked as expected. There is some minor wear to the marks on some. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the crests on some. The crests on other pieces appear to have been more recently engraved. 6 table-spoons, one by Eley and Fearn, 1805 and five by Richard Crossley and George Smith, two 1806 and three 1807 6 table-forks, four by George Smith and William Fearn, 1791 and two maker's mark worn, 1813 6 dessert-spoons, probably by Solomon Hougham, 1797 6 dessert-forks, by John, Henry and Charles Lias, 1824 6 teaspoons, by Peter, Ann and William Bateman, 1802 2 sauce-ladles, by Thomas Wallis, 1805 We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale.
