A George III mahogany breakfront library bookcase, circa 1790, the moulded cornice above a central pair of astragal doors flanked by four further doors, the lower part with an arrangement of one long and ten short drawers together with two pairs of cupboard doors, on a moulded plinth, 334cm high, 342cm wide, 55cm deep

Condition Report:
Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use. Old splits and chips. Some old repairs. Some old losses. Some staining to drawer/ cabinet interiors Additional sections of abrasion and indentation where the locks of the outer doors have hit the centre of the frame of the central doors (see images) The glass appears original, just one pane is cracked. The handles appear original. The locks appear original. The key is lacking. The slides are lacking from the central and left hand cupboards. There are five loose shelves that are likely associated, for use in those cupboards and/ or in the right hand cupboard of the base as there are three empty apertures in that cupboard also. There are not enough shelves to fill all apertures in the cupboards. To some of the small shelves in the cabinet section, some apertures have been cut from the rear edge of the shelf (see image) Several sections of moulding are detached but most are present (in a drawer) we cannot guarantee that all are present.
