A George III silver twin-handled cup of inverted bell-shaped form on a spreading foot, with central girdle and S-shaped scroll handles, one of the handles scratch engraved K over S+H. Hallmarked London 1782, with maker's mark T.W, possible attribution to Thomas Wallis I. Height 5.5" (14 cm), weight 11.9ozt (367 grams).
Condition Report:
- The cup displays surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age and use.
- There are some small dents to the body of the cup.
- Likely repair around the lower join of one of the handles.
- There are residue polish marks around the handles.
- The rim of the spreading base is dented in areas.
- Hallmarks located to base and scattered in a group, these with slight distortion but all still clearly legible.
