† - VAT is payable by the purchaser at the standard rate of 20% on the hammer price as well as being charged on the buyers’ premium
Condition Report:
Old marks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits. some old repairs including a small fillet of timber adjacent to the visible hinge of the top. This could be disguised, polished in much better. Some additional old scratches (some in concentrated areas) and indentation to the top. Some old ring/ water marks also. The top in particular overall is in 'untouched' condition. It appears that it would react very well to appropriate waxing/ polishing. The whole table would benefit from this. The clip fittings and clips are original and high quality. one brass clip fitting is lacking from the underside of one additional leaf insertion. The table is lacking one brass clip if all leaves are added to the table. One end of the top (incorporating the hinged element is not secured to the base, therefore needs some minor attention to secure with screws, minor repair to underside of top. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
