A George V silver mounted cigar box, of rectangular double hinged form with central carrying handle, one hinged lid with various name engravings, the other with initials and dated 1916, both opening to a wood lined interior. Hallmarked Stokes & Ireland Ltd., London 1914. Measuring 8" (20.25cm) by 6.75" (17cm).
Condition Report:
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Would benefit from a clean and polish.
- With a few surface dints and bumps, especially to corners.
- Both hinged lids appear in working order and close almost flush, rising just a little bit.
- Some dark stained marks to the wood interior. Otherwise ok.
- Some general wear and dirt to the base lining. And coming away from the mount around the edge.
- Hallmarks located to one side with part hallmarks to the interior of both lids.
- Some rubbing but all clearly legible.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
