LATE EDO PERIOD, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Miniature or boy's day two case inro in ebony featuring Shishi (Foo Dogs) and Peony in Tsuishi carved lacquer with ensuite netsuke in horn of a man holding a pot.
The inro 6.5cm high, total length 31cm long
Condition:
Condition: Visible repair on one side- previously a cinnabar peony and now filled in with black lacquer.
Small cracks visible on the netsuke under the naked eye, however appears to have a later finish and possible extensive repair once illuminated under UV light.
Netsuke possibly later, and married to inro at a later date.
No signatures visible on inro and netsuke
