the colourfully enamelled elephant with raised trunk, its forehead centred by a tear-shaped diamond within red enamel, one foot lifted from the floral enamel base with pale blue border, set with gold-mounted diamonds, the turban-wearing mahout with raised hands, probably formerly holding a gold spear or a bridle, apparently unmarked
