A Jade Carving ‘Squirrel and Vine Group
Carved in the shape of a vine leaf, decorated to the reverse with a bunch of grapes and a small squirrel with a long bushy tail peering out from the grapes. Period: 18th Century. Length: 6.5 cm.
The design of a squirrel and bunches of grapes is a classic design particularly found both on 17th century wucai decorated porcelain and jade carving.
