A Japanese Meiji period shibayama shodhana, rectangular top above a pair of sliding doors, a stepped niche and an arrangement of further panel doors and short drawers, profusely inlaid and applied throughout with fish, insects, birds amongst blossoming prunus and native specimen fruit and flora, the panel frames decorated in gilt in the maki-e manner, fretwork brackets and apron pierced and carved with scrolling leaves, scroll forefeet, 111cm high, 70cm high, 31cm deep, c.1890
